Dear people who think you are elite artists because you deride action … or superhero …or horror …or “chick flicks”, or emotional, commercially viable animated films, etc… Or just a narrative that actually cares what it’s building and how… as not artistically or cinematically worthy or intelligent… Or difficult…
All fiction is fiction. Nobility is in the skill and architecture of thought. As most who deride commercial viability are people who can’t do commercial viability. Popular and art/talent are far far far from mutually exclusive. In fact some of greatest cinema narratives… I’d even say most… We’re not derided for being too outside the mainstream when they were made but criticized for not being artistic enough. Artistic genius or incredible storytelling isn’t simplistic in just overtly telling something uncommercial… The highest achievement is telling something that inherently subversively shifts the paradigm.
P.S. … yo’re probably not as smart as you think you are. Have a good day. – at Phillips Exeter Academy – Assembly Hall

The collider and the dark matter/anti-matter VFX in the caves/tunnels etc will be done with miniatures using PFX now… Similar to what we are doing for the ocean war stuff. (Although those now have the headache of everything being waterproof) – at Hyvquarters

They were playing around with wands, potions and brews today (not to mention the MR wizards)… The integration and journey between Witchland & ☾Δμ♇ in Web³ is pretty fun. #allaboutthewormholes – at Planet Fitness

The biggest/most central convergence in cubic Web³ is that we are about to hit the moment (we started 8 years ago) where production design becomes UI and UX design. & Media (& art, communication, retail) will never be the same. – at Planet Fitness

Thanks to all the hardware co’s that showed off tech this am for film, devs and game devs. A lot to learn and some really helpful discussions on things to be built for filming. And as a side note today I saw the moment /or talked about where light field technology will change the game in production. (Kept thinking about the first time John Lily tweeted about Lytro. Today with cubic and VR/AR interoperability I saw where a light field rig (enabled) will (soon) be the primary choice for cinema. – at Planet Fitness

I love Phil. Anyone wants to know how exponentially harder cubic is … Try bringing in layers of VFX & narrative that hundreds work on that all need to be in the same flow/kinesics but need to allow creators to fulfill their own hearts/souls. #thecamp alone, for the past 4 years has hundreds, each with layers of this in it building architectures and media flows no one has ever done before. Then come tell me your beliefs and your disses on what I do really. The hardest thing almost anybody has ever tried to do. & yeah I can say that without irony. – at Hyvquarters

The Oculus, Vive, Meta, Sony event is this morning in Cambridge… Hope there will be a consensus after today. The walled Gardens that have already popped up are not a good sign of the web wars in virtuality coming. Make the browser wars look simple. We need to nip this corporate battle in the bud. Thanks to all the game devs etc that are putting their input/energy to that. Build a better Web³… Docker-type architecture, a new type of hybrid browser (like we worked on with WIAB structures & Tu-Is) … and cloud interoperability may be the answer to this. – at Hyvquarters
